FRIENDSHIP CUP 2015

Dear Sensei,
On behalf of Colorado Budokan I would like personally to extend an invitation to you,
your athletes, and coaches to Friendship Cup 2015 to be held at Colorado School Mines, Lockridge Arena, in Golden, Colorado on February 14, 2015.

Please note that adult 35-50 years Intermediate/Advanced divisions will be begin competing at 9:00 A.M. followed immediately by children divisions. Also, the tournament is expanding to five (5) tatami to accommodate our growing participation and to remedy past tournament glitches. I sincerely appreciate your patience and support as Colorado Budokan continues to endeavor to provide you with a safe, challenging, and rewarding competitive experience.

Please note that online competitor registration begins November 15, 2015 and will continue through February 12, 2015. Mail-in competitor registrations must be postmarked by Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Please have your coaches read the coaching regulations, sign the Coach Code of Conduct, and send the Coach Code of Conduct postmarked by February 7, 2015. On-line registration is not available for coach passes. Each dojo may register and receive credentials for a maximum of three (3) coaches. Please advise your coaches they must attend the Referee, Judge, and Coaches meeting at 8:30 A.M. to receive their credentials.

The Friendship Cup was established to promote karate-do and to provide a venue to make new friends, to see old friends, to share technical knowledge, and of course, to engage in spirited competition.

Please honor us with your presence as a competitor, official, spectator, volunteer, or supporter in a wonderful celebration of friendship and competition. I look forward to meeting everyone in your delegation!

Tournament Schedule: Referee, Judge, Coach meeting at 8:30 A.M.

9:00 A.M. – Adults 35-50 years Intermediate/Advanced divisions
9:30 A.M. – Children (age 17 & under)
Team divisions, handicapped/challenged divisions
10:00 A.M. – Children (age 17 & under): kobudo, kata, kumite
12:30 P.M. – Adult (18+ years)

Medical Release:
RELEASE AGREEMENT - READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING
By clicking the "I Agree" you are electronically signing this agreement indicating that you have read, and understood the terms and conditions, refund policy, and release of liability, you are 18 years of age or older or the parent or legal guardian of the minor registering for this tournament or event. In the case of registering a minor you attest that the name entered as the parent or legal guardian is the name of the person accepting the agreement and you are in fact the parent or legal guardian of the registered minor.

I understand that karate is a very dangerous martial art involving forceful physical contact, that it is likely to incite aggressive behavior which is beyond the control of Colorado Budokan ("CB") and Colorado School of Mines (“CSM”), that severe injuries or death may result from my participation in the activities of this martial art, and I fully and knowingly accept these risks. I therefore release CB, CSM, their officers, agents, and employees, and any and all volunteers or paid instructors from any and all liability, now and in the future, arising from or in connection with the activities of and concerning CB, and CSM.
Further, I understand that any medical treatment given to me will be of a first aid treatment type only.
Further, I certify that I am physically and emotionally sound, have medical approval to proceed with rigorous exercise, including physical contact, and assume full responsibility for my own well-being. I hereby waive any and all rights I may have to bring any legal action against any participant, CB member, the CB, CSM representative, the CSM, or anyone else in connection with any injury I may suffer as a result of my participation in Friendship Cup 2015 (“FC15”).

Further, I release the CB, and CSM from any and all liability, which would, could, or might arise from any act of omission on its part in connection with the FC15, the CB, and CSM.
