Tournament Background:
Seminar Instructor: Sensei Fariba Madani
Ms. Madani is a WKF Referee (Kata Judge A, and Referee A, the highest rating for referees) and is a member of the USA Karate Referee Council and the WKF Referee Commission.

This seminar is for those who want to challenge for a higher referee/judge license (up to referee C), renew their current license, or audit.

This seminar is also for those coaches who want to coach at the Arizona Karate Championships
Only those coaches who have an AZ Coach Credential will be allowed on the floor to coach. To receive an AZ Coach Credential, you must attend this kumite/coach seminar. If you were a 2016 USNKF coach you can purchase a Credential for $35 without attending the seminar by going online to karateTmaster.com. Credentials will be given out at the end of the seminar to those who participate and those which were purchased (always bring your receipt). Purchased Credentials can also be picked up at the tournament. Credentials can be purchased (by 2016 USNKF coaches) at the tournament for $45.
Sensei Patrick Martin (AZ Coach Director) will assist Sensei Madani during the kumite/coach seminar.

Kata 9am to 11am
Kumite/Coach 1pm to 4pm

Those who are challenging for a higher license or to renew current license must have a current USA Karate membership. USA Karate memberships must be renewed annually http://www.teamusa.org/usa-karate/member-resources. The referee exam must be taken on line prior to seminar. Participants may take exam as many times as needed; but please be prepared prior to taking the exam. Go to http://www.teamusa.org/usa-karate/officials-and-coaches/officials-resources

Special Notes: Referee attire must be worn. Please bring gi if challenging or renewing kata license. Coach’s attire required for certification. Please bring USA Karate passports. Passports will be available for purchase for new judge participants. Passport fee $20. Lunch is not provided.
