Dear Sensei, Competitors, and Friends,

On behalf of Colorado Budokan, I would like personally to extend an invitation to you, your athletes, and your coaches to Friendship Cup 2024 – 25th Anniversary Tournament to be held at University of Denver (Hamilton Gymnasium in the Richie Center) on February 18, 2024. This venue will provide you with many amenities including a food concession.

Please note that adult 35+ years divisions, will begin competing at 9:00 AM followed immediately by team kata, team kumite, and children (age 5 and up) divisions.

For online competitor and coach registration go to www.karateTmaster.com. Online registration only. Registration will close on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 PM. All competitors and coaches must register and late registrations will not be accepted.

Please advise your coaches they must attend the Referee, Judge, and Coach meeting at 8:30 AM to receive their credentials.

The Friendship Cup was established to promote karate-do and to provide a venue to make new friends, to see old friends, to share technical knowledge, and of course, to engage in spirited competition. I sincerely appreciate your support as Colorado Budokan continues to endeavor to provide you with a safe, challenging, and rewarding competitive experience.

RELEASE AGREEMENT - READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING

By clicking the "I Agree" you are electronically signing this agreement indicating that you have read, and understand and agree to the terms and conditions, refund policy, release of liability, and you are 18 years of age or older. If the registrant is a minor under 18 for this event you attest that the name entered as the parent or legal guardian is the name of the person accepting the agreement and is in fact the parent or legal guardian of the registered minor.

I understand that karate is a very dangerous martial art involving forceful physical contact, that it is likely to incite aggressive behavior which is beyond the control of Friendship Cup 2024 (“FC 2024”), Colorado Budokan ("CB"), and University of Denver (“DU”), that severe injuries or death may result from my participation in the activities of this martial art, and I fully and knowingly accept these risks. I therefore release FC 2024, CB, DU, their officers, agents, and employees, any and all volunteers or paid instructors from any and all liability, now and in the future, arising from or in connection with the activities of and concerning FC 2024, CB, and DU.
Further, I understand that any medical treatment given to me will be of a first aid treatment type only.
Further, I certify that I am physically and emotionally sound, have medical approval to proceed with rigorous exercise, including physical contact, and assume full responsibility for my own well-being. I hereby waive any and all rights I may have to bring any legal action against FC 2024, CB, DU, DU representative, or anyone else in connection with any injury I may suffer as a result of my participation in FC 2024.

Further, I release the FC 2024, CB, and DU from any and all liability, which would, could, or might arise from any act of omission on its part in connection with the FC 2024, the CB, and DU.

If under 18 years of age, the approval of a parent or legal guardian is required.
